(And no,  we don't speak like that)

Now my whole world makes no sense...

How come so many youth spell "Mum", "Mom"?

I have frankly never seen any Australian spell "mum", "mom".

And The Labor party dropped the "u" out of Labour?

"The ALP adopted the formal name Australian Labour Party in 1908, but changed to the American spelling of Labor from 1912. While it is standard practice in Australian English to spell the word labour with a u, the Party has spelt it without one since Labor cabinet minister King O'Malley thought he would "modernise" the name at the time, due to the apparent influence of the American labor movement." - It happened a century ago....and not because Australia was turning into America, there was a strong sense of national pride back then...did American pop culture even exist 100 years ago?

An "extremel steriotypical" accent of what? An American? Where did you get these figures anyway? Most of the time at my school I hear stereotypical Indian and Asian accents, I'm the only one I've heard put on an American accent. (That's Melbourne High for you, lol)

And in news paper they use "Meter", instead of "Metre"?

There are different spellings for different meanings... Metre is the worldwide-standard measurement, Meter is like a parking meter of something.

Anyway, sorry to sound like a meanie, but I'm rebutting your arguments, that's all. That's debating.
BTW, which state do you live in?

EDIT: I propose a renaming of this thread....lol... big_smile

Both spellings are correct.

And The Labor party dropped the "u" out of Labour?

Both spellings are correct. And "Labour" reads much more heavy and weightily and posh than "Labor". Just compare the two.

Labour: "Grrr we're grumpy fat old men in suits sitting around with cigars and moustaches!" versus
Labor: "Hey dudes I'm so cool let's hang out together and be cool together I am awesome!"

See? It's obvious that Labor is much cooler, lighter and modern than Labour.

When Kids are acting and need an accent, 80 percent of the time they put on an extremel steriotypical accent.

Naturally. If you put on an extremely subtle accent people won't notice and get that subconcious piece of information on the roots of the person the actor is acting out.

And in news paper they use "Meter", instead of "Metre"?

Both spellings are correct.
